
Something different, would be my immediate answer. To be able to engage more intimately with photography would be my other side of the spectrum. I'm not against AI, but the importance of human involvement to a point of breaking a sweat, in a literal sense , I believe is becoming more crucial in this VR dominating world. To remind myself to be less dependent on the artificial intelligence, that I'm an independent individual.
I like holding a printed photo, I enjoy seeing a large photo being mounted on the wall. A good home printer is readily available, fine art paper is easily accessible, and if all else fails, reputable print shops are just around the corner.
When "perfection"becomes a standard, you could either perfect it more, or take a U turn and seek the beauty in imperfection.
BW or technic colours are what we have accustomed to. Having colours allow us to be more relatable to how we see our world. We see things in colour, so naturally we wish to replicate it in a manner of speaking. But why BW? why not blue? or red ? The cyanotype raises this fascinating question.
I intend to explore, but will not and cannot conclude. I like BW, but it's really the monotone that I fancy. The flaws and the scars on the print are intentional, but a lot of the times, they are unintentional. I particularly enjoy the intentional. This is why cyanotype.
